Microscopes and Digital Imaging
The use of specialized dental operating microscopes means that the doctor is able to get a detailed look at the work they are doing during all phases of your endodontic treatment. The additional magnification and illumination allow them to work with great precision and see small details such as calcified canals and fractures. The Endodontist is able to improve the potential outcome of the treatment using a dental surgical microscope. Some microscopes may be equipped with high-resolution video and digital photography which enhances communication with the patient and documents treatment.
Conebeam (CBCT)
Conebeam (CBCT) - Cone Beam technology provides a digital tomographic 3D view of the patient’s area of interest. A traditional x-ray is only two-dimensional. With Cone Beam systems the doctor is able to get a full 360-degree view of the tooth and all surrounding areas. The 3D Cone Beam scanner provides nearly limitless views of the teeth while using less radiation than traditional medical CT technology. Our office uses J Morita’s latest 3D technology which is fast, simple, and painless, offering tremendous benefits that were unavailable only a few years ago.
Digital X-ray
Digital radiographs are safer, faster and diagnostically more useful in endodontics than conventional film x-rays. There is up to 80% reduction in radiation, compared to traditional film technology. The resulting images are digital, allowing computer enhancement, enlargement and evaluation, which greatly improve diagnostic and communication capabilities. Digital x-rays are instant which saves time allowing for a better patient experience. This technology is very environmentally friendly as it eliminates the need for film, developer and chemical waste.
Paperless Office
We use TDO Software as it is considered the best endodontic software available. It is used to manage all patient records and information and has comprehensive modules that make our office paperless, a great convenience for our patients and referring dentists. The website integration allows our patients to securely access the site to complete the medical history and consent forms online before their appointment. The software allows our referring dentists to make referral and receive their patients’ reports and imaging through secured HIPAA compliant portal right after the patient is seen. This technology enables us to diagnose and treat our patients more efficiently and to communicate more effectively with both the patient and referring doctor that is secured and HIPAA compliant.
